A brief history...
The Choral Group started life in 1972 as an evening class led by Alistair Barr, then teacher of music at Crieff High School. When he left to teach music in the West Highlands, Charlie Wilson, one of two very musical brothers in the town, took it on and conducted the growing group for several years. Joan Taylor became the third conductor and for twenty years the choir flourished and grew under her leadership. When she eventually moved on, Peter Rutterford took up the reins. After 18 very successful seasons with the choir, Peter decided to retire in 2020. The choir owes Peter a great debt of gratitude for the many varied concert he has produced and we wish him well in his retirement. Ulrike Wutscher was appointed musical director from September 2020. Ulrike's first season was held via Zoom but thanks to her hard work we were concert ready in November 2021, one of only a handful of amateur choirs to be able to stage a live concert.
